Ousman Sowe

Ousman is the brother of Hammadi Sowe. Like Hammadi, he inherited this from their father and he is passing it to his children. What you learn in school is not enough to develop a career in crafts, and the best way to learn this profession is by doing it. Small tasks first and bigger and more complicated tasks as you learn. You see more men than woman, becase the carving is a tough task where girls can get hurt, so they are involved in “safer” tasks, like the creation of jewellery.
