Valentin Akabassi

Valentin works in the Centre for the promotion of arts since 1991. He came to help his uncle and ended up working on his own once his uncle left. Sometimes he manufactures certain objects and sells them, but his uncle is the real artisan, he makes bronze figures in the historic museum of Abomey. Akabassi’s children are interested in the profession, but do not come often to the centre because their home is too far. However, when he works at home, his children sometimes help and always ask many questions. He is proud to say this is not the first time he was asked to appear on a video. He did it once for a French lady and now people call him from France and order products from his shop.
